Untitled Unmastered by Kendrick Lamar was unexpectedly released on March 4, 2016, following his critically acclaimed album To Pimp a Butterfly. The project consists of eight untitled demos and unfinished recordings made between 2013 and 2016, many of which were created during the TPAB sessions.

The album’s minimalist cover design perfectly reflects its raw, unpolished nature – featuring simple white text (using the serif font Dala Floda) on a dark olive-green textured background, with each track similarly titled only by date (e.g. “untitled 01 | 08.19.2014.”). Despite being a collection of demos, the album was highly praised by critics and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
